Major Michael "Duffy" Dyer looked up from his position - strapped into the pilot's seat of a just-smashed, upside down helicopter, sinking into the ocean - and believed his career was over. This episode inspired a journey which propelled him, in just nine short years, to command a major multinational installation, with full responsibility for a port, a city, an airfield, diplomatic relationships, 8000+ personnel, a $77M budget, a $2.4B expansion project, and accountable for negotiating and executing the US and Japan’s Strategic Agreement. With a 45+ year track record as a decorated US Marine Colonel and dynamic Business Executive, Duffy has led and inspired teams globally. From the Pentagon to Far East Asia to Antarctica, he has led a broad spectrum of organizations large and small, spanning cultures and spheres, and demonstrated a practiced ability to foster consensus through collaboration, community partnering, and heart-centered inquiry and action.
